Physical Therapy is the evaluation and treatment of, or prevention of dysfunction via physical, chemical, or mechanical means. Such treatments include moist heat, ice, T.E.N.S., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, therapeutic exercise, and joint mobilization techniques. Physical therapists plan, organize, and administer treatment in order to restore function and mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent disability for those suffering from a disability, injury, or disease.

Our Background

DeVita / Becker Physical Therapy was established in August of 1987 in Staten Island, New York by Maureen Becker and Mary DeVita. In February of 2002, Maureen Becker purchased Mary DeVita's ownership in the business, and Maureen Becker currently owns 100% of the Company. The company has been known for it's experienced and skilled professional staff as well as many specialized programs including ergonomics, craniosacral therapy, dance therapy, trigger point therapy, the McKenzie approach, torticollis and women's health issues. Many of the professionals have taught in local Physical Therapy programs, and this is unique for a business of this size.
